Maybury Artist - Nathan Melhuish
Nathan Melhuish with his custom Maybury Cholla
Nathan Melhuish is the lead guitarist for “The Ariston” — a rising force in London’s indie alt-rock scene.
His journey began at age seven with a guitar passed down from his grandfather, sparking a lifelong pursuit of tone, expression, and sound that tells a story.
After years of cutting his teeth in cover bands, Nathan joined The Ariston in autumn 2024, drawn to their distinct blend of indie energy and alt-rock edge. It was through the band that he discovered Maybury Guitars — and something clicked.
Inspired by the design, detail, and feel of Maybury builds, Nathan commissioned a custom piece: a 24-fret Cholla with a striking blue fade finish and a one-of-a-kind sandwiched wood body. Collaborating closely with Maybury’s luthier Jason Snelling throughout the build, the result is a guitar that’s as expressive as Nathan’s playing.
“This build is truly special. The level of craftsmanship in this guitar is unlike anything I've had my hands on before. I was so excited to play it, I took it on stage before the finish had even cured.”
Now working with Jamie Brown — head producer at JBJ Studios London (known for his work with The 1975 and Primal Scream) — The Ariston are moving into their next chapter. Backed by Right Track Records, a division of Universal Music Group, their latest singles are just the beginning.
