A Truly Stunning Custom Built Instrument
This one-of-a-kind guitar was commissioned by a customer who wanted a bespoke double-cut design inspired by the classic Nighthawk body shape.
From the very first glance, the wood choices make a statement: a 5A flamed maple top and matching maple neck, paired with a two-piece swamp ash body, and finished with an absolutely striking piece of figured Mun ebony for the fretboard.
The guitar features a 25.5" scale length, 22 medium-jumbo frets, and a 12" fretboard radius, offering a familiar yet highly versatile playing feel.
Hardware comes courtesy of Gotoh, with cosmo-black wraparound bridge and tuners that perfectly complement the guitar’s overall aesthetic.
Electronics are where this build becomes truly unique. It’s fitted with a Seymour Duncan SHPR-1b P-Rail, paired with a 3×3 Free-Way switch, unlocking six distinct pickup voices:
P90
Single rail
Full humbucker (both coils)
Series, in-phase
Series, out-of-phase
Parallel, out-of-phase
For a single-pickup guitar, the tonal range is extraordinary — from gritty P90 growl to tight single-coil clarity to full humbucker punch.
In the end, this instrument is exactly what it set out to be: a fully bespoke, meticulously crafted guitar, built to the customer’s exact specifications, with looks and tone that are nothing short of remarkable.
