This striking guitar was put together for “Guitarist” Magazine’s issue 504 November 2023.

Guitarist asked us to create them one of our Upscaler guitars, there was no brief, so I reached out to my Instagram followers, setting up polls to decide on the body colour, pickup configuration and pickguard colour.

What we ended up with was an instant classic, with a Teal green chalk paint finish, double humbuckers and a translucent acrylic tortoise shell pickguard.

The body is made from 2 pieces of reclaimed spruce, combined with a refinished 2006 Squire Affinity neck, maple with a rosewood fretboard which has had our signature brass and resin inlays added.

The hardware is all recycled components, including a string through hardtail bridge with brass saddles, sealed chrome tuners, a Fender Mexican jack socket and Knobs from a 1970s/80s record player.

The pickups are from a 2004 Ibanez SZ520, which have been married with brand new electrics, bourns 500K Potentiometers with Mallory Yellow Capacitors

The result of the combination of all of these disparate parts is something quite special, a really resonant guitar capable of well defined cleans, vibrant Les Paul like like rock tones and a 9/10 from Guitarist Magazine.
